A little something from A Little Something Bakery

Take a moment and admire the beauty of the cookie in the above picture. The puffed, craggy surface. The gentle dusting of powdered sugar. The light, golden brown color.

This is an Almond Cloud from A Little Something Bakery. And it is delicious (or, better yet, scrumptulescent).

Beneath the crackled top lies a soft flavor rush of almond, sweet but not too sweet. The cookie only lasts two, maybe three bites. But they are very tasty bites.

A Little Something Bakery is onto something here.

For more proof, read Amy's comments over at the Greater Hartford Real Estate Blog.

I won't even get into the cupcakes . . . oh, the cupcakes! I'm drooling too much as it is (though I will say I was happy to see cupcakes that were actual cupcake-sized. Not gigantic, dry pucks you see at many bakeries).

A Little Something Bakery can be found in West Hartford between Hall's Market and Park Lane Pizza on Park Road.

I thought their cupcakes were just "pretty good." They certainly don't hold a candle to Magnolia Bakery's, but then, I don't have to go to Manhattan to get cupcakes from A Little Something. Advantage: A Little Something.

I had a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting that was pretty tasty. Of course, your point of not having to go to Manhattan certainly holds weight.

Damn you and your comments about the cupcakes! Now I have to go back and try those too. It's only a matter of time before I get the diabetes diagnosis...

The cupcakes and almond clouds are both the best I've ever had. But, they really have to work on their invantory management. I've been in there maybe four times, and only twice did they have cupcakes available. Once I went in there, and they only had like a half-dozen muffins left, the place was totally empty otherwise. Call ahead to find out if they have what you are looking for.

Might have been good, once, but now way past their prime. Owner just sets out frozen items, pretending that she's baked them there. Poor quality overall: cupcakes, which reviewers gushed over earlier in the year are now dry and hard - obviously old and previously frozen. If she's making it in business, it can't be from the baked goods, it's gotta be from something else.

anonymous you must have been to the wrong place. I've seen the staff measuring out ingredients and mixing and baking right in the store. their bars are amazing with that ganache on them. the cupcakes are good too, but i have learned and the staff even suggests letting them come to room temperature. they use a refrigerated case to keep the frosting from drooling when the ovens are on. try them again and let things warm up.

My mother is a retired professional baker who was very much in demand. No one has ever come close to her baking skills, but this place is pretty darned close! As for low inventory, that just goes to show the popularity of the place! They really put out a very high quality product.
