Dude, we got a monster in town! Oh, wait, no we don't.

I don't know how I missed this in the news a couple weeks ago, but West Hartford apparently has a mysterious monster living in the local reservoir. This NBC30 report, taken from YouTube, explains:

This is pretty cool, right? Our own monster, and just in time for Halloween. But, before we get too excited, it seems all is not what it seems. NBC30 did a little investigating and got to the bottom of this story. The monster, shockingly, is not a monster at all. Find out the results of their in-depth report here (hint: it's a turtle).

Must be that WH Public Works installed yet another "traffic calming" device out in the middle of everything to slow down and channel the water.

And this one works for peanuts! No, wait, that's elephants. Let's try that again. This one works for . . . fish? I assume snapping turtles eat fish, right?

Anyway, if it is a traffic calming device, it sure beats the speed "tables" on Prospect. I mean, honestly, are the folks there just too wealthy for bumps like everyone else? And do the tables really need to be rococo?
